A pilot randomized control trial to determine the feasibility of a hypnosis intervention for the treatment of bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis.

We also plan to assess the effect of hypnotic words and suggestions on brain function. Hypnotherapy has been studied in other chronic pain conditions and has been shown to be a safe and effective therapy for pain and anxiety disorders. The use of hypnosis for bladder pain syndrome is experimental.
