Summary
Study Purpose: The goal of this study is to learn more about how opiate use and HIV affects inflammation in the brain. We will study this using a type of Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT) scan using a radioactive imaging drug called 18F-NOS that can be used to measure inflammation in the brain. Procedures: If you agree to join the study, you will be asked to complete the following research procedures: • 18F-NOS PET/CT of the brain • Placement of an arterial catheter to perform blood draws during the scan • Blood draw for measurement of research inflammatory markers or other testing • Brain MRI scan if you have not had one within 1 year that is up to study standards
