Summary

The study is at the Penn Memory Center at the University of Pennsylvania and is under the direction of David Wolk, M.D..  We are currently recruiting normal control participants ages 75 years and older. The purpose of this study is to collect, store and analyze cognitive data  and biological samples, such as blood and  MRI imaging,  from individuals without symptoms of memory loss and/or dementia.  Our goal is to  improve our understanding of age-associated brain changes and our ability to diagnosis and treat brain diseases. You may be asked to participate in other imaging protocols.

Information will also be obtained from a person (study partner) whom you designate to speak for you and who knows you well. the study partner is required for every annual visit. In addition, the study partner may be asked to complete some assessments and questionnaires .  You will have a 40 to 60 minute paper and pencil test, which will assess your memory, thinking and other problem-solving abilities.  You will return once a year for a re-evaluation. During your return visits, you will report any health related changes that have occurred since your last examination. In addition, you will have a follow up physical and neurological exam and repeat the 40 to 60 minute paper and pencil test. In addition, health information will be obtained from your designated study partner during each annual visit.

Following your annual visit you will be contacted to schedule your MRI within 6 months of your initial date.
