Summary

You are invited to participate in a research study that will look at the impact of primary sclerosing cholangitis on the gut.

Description

Humans are exposed to a variety of small molecules called metabolites. These can come from food products broken down in the gut and from bacteria that are already in the gut, or both. These metabolites make up what is called the metabolome. There is evidence that the gut metabolome can contribute to the onset of some diseases. Therefore, this study will look at the relationship between the bacteria in the gut and primary sclerosing cholangitis.

FAQ

If you consent to participate, you will provide a one-time stool sample. Your participation will be completed after sending this stool sample to Penn. We plan to enroll 40 participants for this study.
